POSITION:   Coordinator, Meals on Wheels, Information and Volunteer Services – Full Time


The Coordinator will be responsible for the development and promotion of our Meals on Wheels Program for the Dundas area. A database of information is maintained on a daily basis to keep statistical information that will assist our Information Counsellors to better deal with enquiries. A volunteer service is in place to source and recruit volunteers through various techniques (social media, presentations etc.). Recruit, manage and monitor individuals and groups of volunteers for placement in various organizations to ensure that everyone involved is satisfied with the outcome. Completing all aspects of program management which includes statistical reporting to ensure quality and funder expectations are being met.


The Coordinator, Meals on Wheels, Information and Volunteer Services will be under the direct supervision of the Executive Director.


Access to a car is essential since speaking engagements are often necessary for effective delivery of service. The ability to work with a wide range of people and have excellent communication skills, including knowledge of the Dundas/Hamilton Wentworth area is an asset. The Volunteer Coordinator will specifically include the identification, recognition and most important the use of volunteer skills, capabilities and experience; ensuring regular meetings with volunteers to gather their feedback and ideas on how to organize the programs to better meet our clients’ needs; and recruitment of volunteers as required to meet the needs of our programs. Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team demonstrate professionalism and work cooperatively with colleagues, clients and community partners .


Community College – Social Service Worker Diploma and a Volunteer Management Certificate with two years experience working in the field. Related experience in communication and public relations is an asset.  Designing and arranging for appropriate volunteer training workshops when required. Must possess excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task and communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and experience.
